modprobe -av edd
Hi!
I am looking for a program that can idenify the motherboards BIOS
ID-string, for example 08/01/2000-693-596-8673-IA6LGC3CC-00 (Award
BIOS) and 61-0503-001169-00101111-071595-440BX/ZX (AMI BIOS).
Ok, you probably say that I only need to reboot the computer and have
a look at BIOS POST but I need this program to identify motherboard
mfg's and BIOS version on computers that are running as servers and
_cannot_ be rebooted.
Sincerly,

modprobe -av edd
It doesn't give the requested information on my system:

[root]# /sbin/modprobe -av edd
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.20-31.9bigmem/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/edd.o
Using /lib/modules/2.4.20-31.9bigmem/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/edd.o
Symbol version prefix 'smp_'
